Game 2 (and 3) of the Soccer Season

Well, I went off and forgot my camera today, so there are not any photos of todays games....boohoo.

As for the games themselves, Brady and Skylar played first and again it was an intense game.....which we did win (5-3). It was against the team that had some players that started out the season on our team until they decided to split up some teams and get 4 instead of 3 actual teams to play.

Austin's game was next and they again came out victorious.

So far things are going good and spirits are up, we will see how the season progresses.

Preschool Picture Day

We had picture day at Preschool on Wednesday the 24th, and Flo was nice enough to email me some of the proofs she took.
First, we have Kameryn showing us a little attitude...does she know anything else??? I think NOT!! LOL

Then I asked Flo if she would please take a couple pictures of the two girls together. Kameryn and Mirandah have become great friends. Sometimes it is a little scary/funny/strange (I haven't decided which) when Kameryn won't let anyone else play with Mirandah at school, or gets upset when there are other girls at soccer practice.

They are great friends, but by the look in their eyes, I am a little worried about what the future will bring when they hit their teens.

First Soccer Game of 2008

Yes, it is a little late in getting posted, but for some reason, it seems like I never have any down time lately.....but, I had to take a minute to get these in, I was very proud of my boys.

First, we have Austin's game(s)...his first one of the season and it happened to be a double header. I guess this age group only got 3 teams, so they will be taking turns doubling up. The exciting part is, they won both games. The poor kids seemed to be pretty tired by the second game, but it was exciting to see them work together and pull off another win. I know it isn't about winning or losing, but it is still exciting when last year it was pretty much a fight to actually get Austin to participate in the "game" on Saturdays.

Then we had Brady and Skylar's game, with dad as coach. This was a first of a few things, Brady's first game of soccer, the first game of the season, James' first time coaching soccer. I must say considering we had somewhat of a rocky start....lost a couple players to another team, had a new player with only 1 practice in....we ended up having a good game. It was a good, overall, down to the wire game where we didn't know who was going to win until it was over. We did end up winning by 1 point...needless to say, that gave the team a lot of confidence, so we'll see what happens next weekend.

Great Niece's 1st birthday

It was my great niece Bailey's 1st birthday today. It is funny to me how we all got so excited when it was time for her to "dig in" to her cake. I think all mom's or people in general think it is funny when the little child gets the cake all over themselves, their clothes, hair, floor, etc. that one time in their life. For some reason on that one special day it is ok to get all messy...we just don't want it to become a daily habit.

It was a little strange for me to see my nephew having a baby girl...it seems like yesterday it was his 1st birthday...he is 23 now. Here is a picture of Justin (the father), his dad Steve (my brother) and Austin...I had to check the family resemblence.......people keep saying Austin looks more like James than me, I had to prove them wrong.

Sign of school starting

The new clean, shiny, white shoes are a sure sign for me that school is about to start. I don't know about the rest of you, but my kids' shoes will no longer look like this by the end of the first week of school. It's funny how they get so excited about the "pretty new shoes" until they actually wear them outside and get a little dirt on them, then they are just like every other pair they have in the closet.
